Meet Miss. Schaechter {now Mrs. Stokey, she got married a few months ago}. Joses ADORES her. She is very academicaly structured, strict, and a little tough sometimes. Go figure, Joses loves her. And she loves him and says he's his most well-behave student. When I tell her he is my most obnoxious, bouncy, energetic child.....she looks at me in much disbelief.

And meet Grandma. She is the second eye for Mrs. Stokey. Joses also loves Grandma. She is so sweet with the children and I am sure much help to Mrs. Stokey.

I know Joses will miss these two wonderful people whom have had much influence in his life. Very greatful for them.

takin' a break from reality. we headed up to Cape Caribe thursday night for our FREE stay at the Ron Jon Resort. Playing in the sun ALL.DAY. .......what more could you want?

we spent most of our time in the pool,

the lazy river,

& water slide.

we eventually headed to the beach within walking distance and played in the sand and water. It was absolute bliss!

i cannot believe that my baby is 6! i am so thankful for my girl. Heavenly Father knew i needed a girl. i'll let you in on a little secret.......i never wanted a girl and when i was only about a month along while pregnant with MarleeRae, i KNEW she was a girl and i cried, not tears of joy,but of the fact that she will be a teenager someday, she will want to date, she might get her heart broken, girls can be mean and catty<---------all that = DRAMA. all i can do is pray.

did my pregnancy feel different? nah. it was something deeper, maybe something spiritual preparing me. people would ask me how do you KNOW??? all i could say is: "i just KNOW". i did not doubt it once. i love her just as much as jamuson & joses, and i wouldn't trade my girl in for anything. i have learned alot from having a girl. Rae-Rae balances out our family PERFECTLY. she brings sweetness, joy, laughter, and beauty into our family.

......so grateful she picked me to be her mom. love you Rae-Rae. Happy Birthday!!

STEP 1. cut tortillas into snowflakes

like you would with a peice of paper: fold in 1/2, fold in 1/2 again, fold again, and cut:

put oil in a pan, set stove at medium heat {the smoke detector went off by having the heat up too high...oops!}

there's the terrible 2's. but why hasn't anyone ever mentioned the terrible 8's? don't let this face fool you. joses use to be my sweet, giving {he would give me something EVERYDAY. whether it be a flower, a weed, a kiss, a note...the list goes on}, easy-going, loving, and funny kid. but now? he gives me nothing but attitude, melt downs, and back talk constantly. jamuson went through the exact same stage! maybe it's just my kids. i know it's because they are wanting to be their own individual and they want their independance, but honestly! wouldn't it be much easier if he would simply say, "mom, i really think this would be best for me". and i could say, "well, i don't think that would be best for {b/c i've been there, done that....blah,blah,blah} you." and he would say, "mom, you're right, you know what you're talking about. okay." but that would be too easy.

you know the school year is coming to an end when homework slows down and reports are due. joses got to pick a rain forest organism. he chose the Green Tree Python. he used fimo clay to create his snake........he was sooo proud that he wanted me to take a picture of him with all his hard work...and rightly so!

if you have children whose minds are constantly ticking as well as physically active......the beach is perfect. they never seem to tire of it.

.........and more importantly, last week was my best friend's birthday. i truly love this man. in my eye's he is amazing, hard working, loving, intellingent, fun, sweet. i could not imagine my life without him. we are perfect opposites.

kiwi LOVES to cuddle. the day i held her, the first thing she did was scoot up to my shoulder so she could rest her head on my neck. i grew up with a dog, we've had dogs when the kids were younger, but i never knew i could love a dog.........i love her so much, that I even let her in my bed.

we had such a lovely visit with nan. she came out especially for joses' baptism....how special is that???

and some of the nights after i'd put the kids to bed, nan and i would golf and bowl....on the wii that is. we had some good times and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit with her. next visit with nan???? hopefully next march for jim's graduation.....{no pressure nan;)}

last weekend jim surprised us with a planned weekend to spend in Daytona.
i think this was our 4th beach thus far.....there will definately be more. might
as well get as much use out of it while we're here.

when we go to the beach we usually take Kiwi with us {even though there "No Dogs Allowed"}. she usually just sleeps on chair, i watch her, and jim and the kids play. this time we took her to the dog beach. she wasn't too fond of the water, and got frustrated every time she would sniff the sand and ended up with a mouthful. in due time, she just may end up loving it.....we shall see.

our family LOVES good food.....for every occasion, we make something tasty. we love to try new restaurants of different cultures, new recipes from the internet, friends,etc....WE.LOVE.{{GOOD}}FOOD.

whew!!!! what an amazing and eventful weekend! Nan flew in on wednesday because Joses turned 8 this weekend. on friday we had a pool party, on saturday we went out to dinner, and sunday he was baptized.........all of this means shopping {food and gifts}, organizing and asking for favors from friends, cake making {2 at that!}.......all of this equals one happy birthday boy.

in our faith, when we turn 8 years of age we get baptized. it's a big deal and an important part of what we believe. joses turned 8 this weekend. it was a beautiful day. we had friends and Nan there who made it extra special for our family. it was a beautiful day......did i already say that??? i can't even put into words how much i love joses. i couldn't even imagine our family without this spunky, zainy, sweet, giving, loving, fun, bouncy,full of life, happy kid. Heavenly Father trusts me waaaay too much.

last saturday was jamuson's pinewood derby. he had fun watching the car that he and jim made go down the track. he's already talking about next year's derby....can't wait. by the way, jamuson painted the car, i held it out while did the fade job......i'd say not bad for his first paint job.

i guess living in FL is the place. we've had so many visitors!!! my youngest brother, Leif {aka: beef-o-leif}, made a visit at thanksgiving. he stayed for nearly 2 weeks.....he survived our family, we are not quiet people. some hightligts of his visit:he taught joses some chords on the guitar, beach trip, downtown disney, late night hangouts, some heated discussions on our political views, visit the "tree park", listening to his guitar playing skills, just having his presence was awesome.....love my lil' bro!

one of my brothers, joses, came for a {too short} visit, but am so glad we got to hang. he was in FL for work {oakley}. i feel so lucky to a have brother like Joses. we were able to reflect on the past and the present. it's comforting to know that there is someone who understands completely and understands exactly why i am the way i am and vice versa. love this guy. just wish we didn't live on complete ends of U.S.

for Christmas the kids got some Christmas money as gifts. i have to admit, i dread taking marleerae shopping.......she takes FOREVER. she has to look at it, think about it and always ends up putting the first 5 things she picks out. but, i must say that this time i was excited {and the patience paid off}. she picked out a GIRL GOURMET cake making set. it's true what jim says: "she's just like you".....i'll take that as a compliment, thank you! i was so excited in so many ways. because first of all i.love.to.bake., her and i get to have girl time, and that she chose something that she could learn how to do. we had fun and she was so proud of herself and so was i.

do you regret me getting my new camera??? i just have one post after another. what can i say?????? i haven't had a camera for about 6 months.........guess i am having withdrawls.

i absolutely cherish my gang. we got to hang out all summer at the lake, in the pool, chillin at home, movies, bike riding, the park.....just having normal fun away from the old life where i worked 12 hour days-the kids in tow for the most part. it was nice not being needed by others, but by the people that matter most to me.

i like this page. i like how it turned out, except for "Adventure". guess i should've planned that one better. i put all the journaling on the BACK of my pages. it goes to the effect of this: after marleerae's field trip she wanted to come home early with me. she had been practicing here and there on her 2 wheeler, but was easily discouraged, she did not try for a month or so. she got on, was a little shakey and yet again felt discouraged. me, knowing how bad she wanted to ride with her brothers, reminded her of that. so she got on that bike and took off and did not want to stop. another milestone, another adventure.

at the end of summer, i painted the dining area wall. "Atonement" is the name of this shade. with splashes of oranges, reds, and some black here in there, im in color heaven. i seriously am obsessed with color and have been since i was about 2 years of age {my mom has a story to prove it too}. these colors make me feel happy, refreshed, & exuberant.

marleerae is really into being strong lately. i don't know where this is coming from. yes, i do try to live a healthy lifestyle, so maybe it is rubbing off on my kids. everyday when she gets home from school, she tells me to feel how strong her muscles are and tells me how she arm wrestles the girls and the boys at recess. in this picture, she and jamuson are battling it out, he was really trying his hardest, she held up her own for a good 30 seconds or so. jamuson won. she definately holds her own......that's my girl!

the kids have "flower chores" every day. it's basic stuff: make bed, clean room, eat breakfast, say prayers, brush teeth, and get dressed. i know, i know, these are very basic things, but basic that NEED to be done every day. but it's nice not having to tell them everyday what to do AND that just means the less they have to hear me. plus we have a rotating chart with duties like: clean the bathroom, wash dishes, unload dishwasher, help fold laundry, sweeping. at first it was like pulling teeth, but it has become 2nd nature in our home. it brings peace in our home in the fact that know what's expected of them before they go off to play. sometimes before i wake up in the morning, they have all their duties done. they have become very responsible and work together well.

free. 1 cost about $24. and the other deal was $1.78/lb. for 80% lean ground beef {AWESOME DEAL}. so here's the best part: my total came to $17.00!! i said, "that doesn't sound right, do you need to ring it up again?" he tried ringing it up again, but with tax, it was $17.52. i said "okay", and ran like mad before he could change his mind!!

BREAKDOWN:

15 LBS OF BEEF FOR $17.52!!!!!!!! the total should've been $90 something.

on saterday, we swam all.day. we love it! even though we swim just about every day, we can't seem to get enough!! we were there until dinner time, so we ran home and grabbed some food and grilled it. perfect way to end the perfect, relaxing day. jamuson wasn't up to swimming for most of the day, so he wrote a comic and other stories.

in the summer my kids turn into fish. swimming.everyday. is our summer ritual. this summer marleerae decided {finally} that she was going to swim. why? what was her motivation? "so i can keep up with my brothers!" -marleerae....ok, girl, what ever works. and she does, very well too. in which when bed time comes around-she's out before you can count to 3. LOVE summertime.....guess we're in the right place then. florida is treating us good.

Vacuum {aka cockroach killer}.

you'd think i could just smash that creepy, crunchy, germ infested, good for nothing, twit bugger with a shoe. can't bring myself to do it. i am deathly afraid of them. i don't care if they have a purpose on this earth {besides to scare to me}, i will be brave and kill this little sucker......with the extra long hose feature on this "vacuum".

this is one hot family!! how do you like our annual family picture?

okay i'm done being a dork. a couple of weeks ago Northrup Grumman had a family picnic. we got to see what he gets to work on among other cool things that this company does to keep our country safe every day-very cool stuff. i wasn't aloud to take pictures because it is government property. oh well. this is the souvenir i picked up. this pic was taken with a thermal camera. pretty cool. i think so.
